When danger imminent betides হোয়েন ডেঞ্জার ইমিনেন্ট বিটাইডস Danger [ডেঞ্জার] - বিপদ, Imminent [ইমিনেন্ট] - আসন্ন বা যেটা খুব শীঘ্রই ঘটতে চলেছে, Betides [বিটাইডস] - ঘটে বা আসে। যখনই কোনো বিপদ আসার সম্ভাবনা দেখা দেয়।

কবিতার সারসংক্ষেপ (Summary):
এই কবিতায় কবি শামুকের জীবনযাত্রার একটি সুন্দর ছবি এঁকেছেন। শামুক ঘাস, পাতা বা দেয়ালে খুব শক্তভাবে আটকে থাকে, যেন মনে হয় সে ওখানেই তার ঘরবাড়ি নিয়ে জন্মেছে। ঝড়-বৃষ্টি বা বিপদের আঁচ পেলেই সে তার খোলসের মধ্যে নিরাপদে লুকিয়ে পড়ে। শামুক খুব স্পর্শকাতর প্রাণী; ওর শুঁড়ে একটু হাত দিলেই সে বিরক্ত হয়ে নিজেকে গুটিয়ে নেয়। সে একা থাকতে ভালোবাসে এবং তার নিজেকে ছাড়া আর কোনো সম্পদের প্রয়োজন নেই। সে নিজেই নিজের কাছে সবচেয়ে বড় সম্পদ।

Sir, Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I would like to express my deep concern regarding the indiscriminate use of loudspeakers in our locality.
Nowadays, the thoughtless use of loudspeakers has become a major nuisance. Whether it is a religious festival, a political meeting, or a private party, loudspeakers are played at a deafening volume from early morning till late at night. This causes severe problems for students preparing for exams, heart patients, and elderly people. Despite existing laws against noise pollution, the rules are openly flouted.
I, therefore, request the concerned authorities to take strict legal action against those who violate the norms and restore peace in the locality.
